Exploring the Third Dimension: Creating Free Form Sculpture 12/1
Leader: Abigail Webber & Joy Leising   In this series, youth artists will get hands on experience creating free form wire-hose sculptures.  Class discussion will include sculpture history and examples of 3-D that we find in everyday experiences.  By manipulating wire, students will make skeletal structures to use as a base for the final project.  After everyone creates their own unique shapes with the wire, we will use panty hose to act as the “skin” for the free form sculptures.  We will gesso the projects and allow them to dry for the following class.

Exploring the Third Dimension:  Adding Texture 12/8
In this final class, students will create their own “texture tiles” with clay to gain an understanding of fundamental role texture plays in sculpture. The youth artists will then add their own textures, shapes, and colors to their free form sculptures.
12/15 DIY Gift Making

Each artist will have the opportunity to make a variety of different gifts, from natural lip balm , self portraits , to designing a simple bag for someone special in your life!  Each artist is welcome to bring in their own gift ideas to work on while receiving assistance for studio teachers as well.
