Veil Painting
Leader: Richard Armstrong
Veil painting  is a method of healing and transformation as one works from  relationship with specific chosen colors, usually two to three for the most part and then, if wanted, nearing finishing, a few high-lights of other colors.  So, as you work without a preconceived notions, the colors and their relationships to one another and you are allowed to work on your being,  emotionally, mentally or spiritually and even physically.  You will learn how to tape paper down, prepare the paper for its first veil, learn how to make hard and soft lines (spirit and soul lines), and how to use black (or ultra-marine) as extra punch.
Students will use Arches hot press 140 # which costs about $5 per sheet.  It is also suggested to bring two filbert brushes.  One at 3/4 of an inch and one at 1 1/2 inches.  They are a bit expensive but will last you a life time and allow you to be more successful in the execution of large veils.  A chip brush will do in a pinch but is not recommended.
