Monkey Studio believes that self-expression is vital in our daily lives.
Using art in one’s life
combines verbal and non-verbal communication, opening new pathways for
learning. Using both types of
communication also promotes the use of both the left and right hemispheres of
the brain.
Using art also expands
one’s learning potential beyond the traditional modes of learning used in
school (linear, verbal, sequential and fact-oriented). This learning promotes appropriate
risk-taking and creativity in thought.
Using art in a group
setting also reduces social anxiety, increases positive self-thought and
empathy. This also leads to a freer
expression of feelings and self that would normally be ignored and kept inside.
